8. Mood comes last

Be patient to the end

English puts its attitude first: I want to go, let's go. Japanese says the whole statement and adds the mood at the very end, in the ending card.

たいです = want to · ましょう = let's. For します verbs: したいです, しましょう.

東京に行きたいです (I want to go to Tokyo). 一緒に食べましょう (let's eat).

Asking for things

Two fused cards cover most counters: お願いします (please, after a noun + を) and ください (please give me). コーヒーをお願いします. 駅までお願いします to a taxi driver: "to the station, please".
