〜てください・〜ています・〜てもいいですか
The て-form: the verb's connector
Every verb has a て-form, the shape it takes before another word. します verbs are easy: 注文して. Native verbs shift a little: 食べ → 食べて, 待ち → 待って, 飲み → 飲んで, 行き → 行って.
You do not have to memorise the shifts yet. Place the verb card, then a て ending card, and the builder shows the joined form.
〜てください = please do it. 待ってください (please wait). メニューを見せてください (please show me the menu). This is the polite way to ask anyone to do anything.

Please show the menu.
駅を教えてください。
Please tell me the station.
ここで止めてください。
Please stop here.
Right now: 〜ています
〜ています is "am / is doing". 今ラーメンを食べています (I am eating ramen now). 田中さんは会社で仕事しています (Mr. Tanaka is working at the office). Past: 〜ていました. Negative: 〜ていません.
今ラーメンを食べています。
(I) am eating ramen now.
田中さんは会社で仕事しています。
Mr. Tanaka is working at the office.
友達は駅で待っていました。
My friend was waiting at the station.
May I? 〜てもいいですか
〜てもいいですか asks permission and already contains the か. 写真を撮ってもいいですか (may I take a photo?). カードを使ってもいいですか (may I use a card?). The answer you will hear: はい、どうぞ.
